How to Activate and Install ESET Antivirus Trial on Your PowerSpec Computer

PowerSpec computers come with 90 days of ESET antivirus. Unlike other brands, PowerSpec does not pre-install ESET in case you prefer to run a different antivirus program, but your system will come with the ESET Activation Helper tool to help you activate and install ESET. Whether you want to run ESET or not, we do strongly advise having some type of antivirus software on your system. If you want to take advantage of the 90 days of ESET, follow these steps:

Using the Activation Helper

1.   When you boot your PowerSpec computer for the first time, the ESET Activation Helper window will appear automatically. Select I want to activate and install.


2.   This will open a new window with the ESET activation form. Fill out all the required fields including the serial number of your PowerSpec computer.


3.   Once the activation form is submitted, scroll to the top to view the ESET license key. Copy or save the license key as it will be needed during installation. License information will also be emailed to you.

4.   Follow the instructions in the following article to install the current version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus. https://support.eset.com/en/kb3418-download-and-install-eset-nod32-antivirus

What if I can't get to the Activation Helper?

If you selected the option to not install ESET or otherwise can't get the Activation Helper back:

1.   Go to https://www.eset.com/us/activate/microcenter

2.   Select "I'm activating a new license"

3.  Fill out all the required fields including the serial number of your PowerSpec computer.

What if there's an error or I can't register my license?

Sometimes the activation doesn't work. If you run into trouble, feel free to comment below for assistance. We can help by submitting a request to add the Serial Number to the ESET database and get the trial version downloaded for you in the meantime.

    Hello @jimothy and welcome to the community!
    I am sorry that you are having issues activating your ESET license on your PowerSpec PC. It is likely that your PowerSpec serial number was not added to the ESET database yet. I will send you a private message to help you get this resolved. 
    In the meantime, to get your PC secure you can download ESET directly from their website here: https://www.eset.com/us/download/home/  You can use your email address to start a free trial.

    Hello, I recently purchased a PowerSpec and I'm having a similar issue to jimothy. It won't allow me to insert my state. Therefore I'm unable to complete the activation because it's a necessary field. Will I be able to go to the link previously provided (https://www.eset.com/us/download/home/) to download ESET? 
  • I'm having the same issue as @PLAG. I cannot select 'State' regardless of what i choose for the 'Country' field, and 'State' is a required field so I can't proceed to the next step.

    Hi there! For both of you, you'll want to try to register the license directly through ESET's website:

    https://store.eset.com/us/activate/microcenter/

    Click "I'm activating a new license" and fill out the form. At the bottom, use the computer serial number for the Serial Number/Activation key. Once you do that, you'll be provided a new License Key you can use. Make sure you copy/save it. 

    Go to https://www.eset.com/us/download/, select "I already purchased" under Home, then download NOD32 antivirus. During the download, it will prompt you for an activation option, select "use a purchased license key" then use the key provided from the registration windows.

    Have you tried using a different web browser?

    Seems I am not alone , went to activate my eset and have a error and will not let me get the key! Serial must not be in the database as someone before

    Alright, I have submitted a ticket to add your serial number to the ESET database. In the meantime, we recommend using the free trial for ESET. You can download it here: https://www.eset.com/us/download/ then just use your email address to sign up for the free trial. Your serial number should be added by the time the trial expires.

    I am having the same problem as many other users.  When I enter my information into the activation screen, it says "The License Key or Retail Code you entered could not be found in our system."

    I put in a request to have a key generated for your system and emailed you this information as well. We'll get that new working license for the 90 day trial out as soon as possible.

    I've opened up a ticket to have this corrected. In the meantime you can always download the 30-day trial directly from eset.com and once that trial is up, your serial number should be fixed and you can try activating it again for a further 90 days.
