Brand New Powerspec computer keeps hanging up
hi!
I recently purchased a refurbished Powerspec computer from you guys, specifically saying it was for streaming and gaming. Unfortunately I have found that everytime i try to stream a game, the computer completely freezes and I am forced to restart the computer, granting me a loss of viewers, revenue, and patience every time. My specs are a 2080 Super graphics card, 16gb ddr4 ram and an I7 processor. I have tried multiple streaming applications, updating ALL of my drivers, monitoring the temperature, and everything else I can think of to no avail. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Hello @Vincent! Welcome to the Community.
Does it only happen while streaming? Honestly, with how consistent the crashes are and having reinstalled your drivers, I'd probably recommend just resetting or reinstalling Windows:

That will pretty much eliminate any software issues it could be. -
Hello Vincent and thank you for posting your concerns to the Micro Center Community! Based on those specifications you should be able to stream. To see if we can narrow down this issue, there are a few things I'd like to review.
- What programs do you primarily use for streaming?
- Are you seeing high temperature spikes?
- Have you overclocked the system since the purchase was made?
- Aside from the game and the streaming program, do you have other applications running in the background?
-
I have discord and chrome running in the background, primarily use streamlabs or regular OBS, I have not overlooked the system at all, and I don't notice any temperature spikes happen
-
Thank you for the information @Vincent, this appears like it could be hardware related. Have you noticed it freezing during game play with one or more games, when not streaming? I would also recommend reinstalling windows to eliminate any software possibilities since you already reinstalled the drivers.

Specifically seige alot, so it might be the extra ssd I put in? Idk
-
An easy way to test that would be disconnecting any extra drives/SSDs and seeing if the same issue occurs.
-
So went to do a fresh install and the computer froze halfway through. I am now a proud owner of a brick

Sounds like it's a potential hardware issue, unfortunately. If you are comfortable with it, you could open up the side-panel and unplug and replug the power cables and make sure the components are seated properly, otherwise I would definitely bring it back to us. We can either do an exchange or service it under warranty depending on how long it's been since the purchase. Normal return period is 15 days.

Tg its only been less than 7.
-
Okay! In that case, I would bring it back in for an exchange. Let us know if you have any more questions!
