PowerSpec G706

Welcome to the forum, @NCDetroit. The G706 does support an additional M.2 NVMe SSD, however it can be a little tricky to get to. The available slot is located under your graphics card, underneath an M.2 heatsink labeled "M.2 Armor". I've provided an image for reference below.
You will need to remove your graphics card to access this heatsink, then use a precision screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the heatsink in-place. From there, you can add any M.2 NVMe SSD of your choosing. My personal recommendation would be: https://www.microcenter.com/product/600422/inland-premium-1tb-ssd-3d-nand-m2-2280-pcie-nvme-30-x4-internal-solid-state-drive. It has a quality controller and has an endurance rating of 600TBW, meaning you can completely fill and wipe the 1TB drive 600 times on average before the drive needs replaced. It also comes with a 3 year warranty and can be replaced at your local Micro Center store instead of having to ship it off to a manufacturer for a replacement.

Thank you for your response. Does the G706 only support 3.0 or does it also support 4.0 x4?

The motherboard in the G706 is an ASRock X570 Pro4, which does support PCIe 4.0. You can find detailed specifications here:

Thank you for all your help. Once I install the Chip, is there anything I need to do for the PC to recognize the chip for storage?

@NCDetroit Good morning! I apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. If you've yet to find the answer to your question, here is a posting created regarding making sure your PC recognizes your new storage.
