I have a HP Stream 11-y010wm Laptop

I have forgotten the password and received this message when I tried to reset my password:
"This feature requires removable media, such as a USB flash drive. Please connect a USB flash drive, and then try again."
The laptop is brand new out of a package in that I used it once maybe two years ago. Any suggestions on how I can change the password? Thank you!

Does the system have Windows 10 on it? If so, you can reset it from the login screen. Refer to our guide here for that process:

Just keep in mind resetting the unit will wipe all data on it, so if there's anything on there you need to save I'd recommend bringing it to us for a data backup first.
