Can I upgrade motherboard in current PowerSpec tower?

Hello - can I upgrade the motherboard in my current PowerSpec PC?   It is several years old and the mouse/keyboard are sometimes very slow in responding.  I love the PC as it is currently configured...would just like to get better performance.
Is changing out just the CPU on the motherboard an option?

@bobfake Good morning and thank you for your question. If you're choosing the same size motherboard you can do this in most systems including this one. You would need to upgrade both the Motherboard and the CPU, but the RAM as well as this system uses DDR3 rather than current DDR4 which uses a different socket type.
