Powerspec G707 external SSD

Hello, so I just bought this Pc at MicroCenter and I'm really new to these things. Is there any way for me to add an external SSD to my desktop? If so, can you guys give me the links/articles/steps on how to do it?
If not, can I install Linux(Ubuntu) in the external hard drive and plug it in my desktop. (Any help will be helpful for me)

I'd also recommend taking a look at the guide below for information about how to add the additional drive to your PowerSpec.

Thank you Sir. But between install a hard drive into the pc and portable hard drive, which one will be the better? I mainly use Ubuntu to write code and compile (c++, assembly language) for my school assignments.
