Installed this NVMe drive last night - in the windows device manager there are now 3 "Other devices" that it can't find the correct drivers for. Can I get some help with these? When I say update, it can't find anything, and neither can windows.
Hello @Thewarguy
You'll need to initialize the new drive for windows to know what kind of device it is.
Here's a helpful guide to walk you through the steps to add your new drive.
Let me know if you have any questions about this!
Thanks for your reply @LandShark
I actually installed my windows OS on the drive. It shows up fine in there. It works as expected. There just seems to be some missing drivers for it that are not getting installed. (Disk 2 is the NVME drive)
So does that mean I have to reinstall windows? - format the drive any try again?
Or can I uninstall the drivers and have them be installed again? Or would that ruin the boot?
@LandShark I tried uninstalling the 3 unknown drivers and restarted, and they came right back. Is there any issue with just leaving it as is? Since everything seems to be functioning normal?
I'd recommend ensuring that your device speeds are up to par. Otherwise, it would be acceptable to leave it as it is now and should not cause any complications and function as intended.
@LandShark Thanks for the assistance! Hopefully nothing blows up :)
Haha! I think you're safe here.
If you do have any additional concerns, don't hesitate to let me know! Always happy to help!
