AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Breakdown
AMD’s new Radeon RX 6700 XT is out today and bringing with it some powerful 1440p gaming performance.
The new RX 6700 XT has its sights set on delivering the best 1440p performance on the market and, with help from AMD’s game-boosting programs, it just might. Featuring 12GB of high-speed GDDR6 VRAM, AMD RDNA 2 Gaming Architecture for Ray Tracing, AMD Infinity Cache, and AMD Smart Access Memory, the RX 6700 XT is a mid-range powerhouse.
And, of course, the RX 6700 XT has access to AMD’s suite of gaming enhancements, including AMD Radeon Anti-Lag, decreasing the amount of time between input and action, and AMD Radeon Boost, which delivers up to a 27% performance increase while gaming.
What that all means:
1440p Gaming:
1440p gaming is, essentially, the mid-point between 1080p, the HD standard, and 4k. 1440p delivers high-quality visuals without breaking the bank. The RX 6700 XT offers top-of-the-line 1440p visuals for the mid-range price.
12GB High-Speed GDDR6 VRAM:
VRAM, or video RAM, is memory dedicated to running computer graphics. 12GB of High-Speed GDDR6 VRAM means that there’s more than enough blazing-fast memory to render stunning 1440p graphics.
AMD RDNA 2 Gaming Architecture:
With the rise in Ray Tracing, a new graphic tool that adds realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections, AMD developed the RDNA 2 Gaming Architecture, designed to get the most out of Ray Tracing technology.
AMD Smart Access Memory:
When the RX 6700 XT is paired with a 5000 Series (and select 3000 Series AMD processors, the processors can make use of the RX 6700 XT’s 12GB GDDR6 RAM to boost performance up to 16%.
AMD Infinity Cache:
AMD added a 96MB last-level data cache to the RX 6700 XT’s GPU chip, allowing for up to 2.5x higher bandwidth. In other words: even more gaming performance.
