AMD Radeon RX 6600 Build Guide
The brand new AMD RX 6600 is here, and it's ready to rock your budget PC build. Don't believe us? Check out our benchmarks over here. In honor of this not-so-pricey powerhouse, we've put together a build guide designed to squeeze every last drop of power out of it while keeping some cash in your wallet.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Vermeer 3.7GHz 6-Core AM4 Boxed Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler
The AMD Ryzen 5 5600 is a stellar budget processor, with enough power to keep you gaming for years to come, even if you upgrade everything around it, making it a perfect budget complement to the RX 6600. And, as an added bonus, it comes with a Wraith Stealth Cooler, a really solid pack-in CPU cooler so you won't need to buy an aftermarket cooler.
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 AMD AM4 ATX Motherboard
The ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 is exactly what you look for in a budget gaming rig. It's certainly not going to break the bank, but it also hides a ton of powerful gaming tools that'll maximize your 6600. Plus, multiple M.2 slots for memory upgrades, a PCIe 4.0 port, and perfect compatibility with our Ryzen 5 5600X.
Graphics Card: PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 6600 Hellhound Dual-Fan 8GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card
The brand new AMD Radeon RX 6600 GPU is the perfect budget gaming card. It performs stellarly at 1080p and can handle 1440p esports without breaking a sweat. Even bringing with it RDNA 2 Architecture, AMD Infinity Cache, and DirectX 12 Ultimate Support. Check out our full report here!
Nowadays, 16GB of RAM is the bare minimum to run everything. And G.Skill's Ripjaws V RAM is going to run everything with ease. At a clock speed of 3200, you'll be blazing along with anything you do and, if you do want more power, you'll still have two slots left over for even more RAM.
Hard Drives: Samsung 870 EVO 500GB SSD (For OS) and Seagate BarraCuda 4TB 7200RPM SATA III 6Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (For everything else)
Stop settling for slow boot speeds. Put your OS on an SSD, and marvel at how quickly your new budget build launches. Toss your favorite games on there as well, and you'll be in the Warzone faster than you can ask "where we dropping?" Add on an extra 4TB of HDD space to save some money, and you'll have more than enough room for everything you need and more.
Power Supply: EVGA 750 BQ 750 Watt 80 Plus Bronze Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
I'm hard-pressed to recommend anything less than a fully-modular power supply, but since we're working on a budget: semi-modular. The EVGA 750 BQ is going to be more than enough to power your whole system with power left over for upgrades. Plus, being semi-modular, you'll have some choice in how many cables you put into your rig. Keep those loose cables out of there!
Case: Lian Li Lancool II Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower Computer Case - Black
You can't just build a new PC, you have to show it off (maybe even in our Build Showcase!)!The Lian Li II Tempered Glass eATX Full Tower is the perfect way to do so. With beautiful glass paneling, your fantastic new PC will be easy to flaunt to everyone. Plus, some nice RGB on the front is always a welcome addition!
