With Frys now going out of business, and the nearest Micro Center 2 hours away, Indianapolis has no computer part stores left. Now is the chance for Micro Center to move in and gain a following. Some of us drive the 2 hours just to go to your stores. One here would do fantastic.

Last I knew, we were looking at a few places different places for a new store, but I'm sure that this has an effect on those decisions!

I definitely second this suggestion. The Fishers, IN Fry's store was originally one of Tandy's Incredible Universe sites, which Fry's purchased. Microcenter has skipped over Indiana for years now, and the Indianapolis (17th in the US) area has the largest population in the state, a city just a bit smaller than Columbus, OH (14th in the US).

I used to live in Columbus, OH. Microcenter would absolutely kill it in Indy. Fry's used to be packed when they had stock and it was literally three to four times the size of a microcenter. There is nothing in town where PC builders and enthusiasts can go. Tons of open retail space in good locations in Indy.

Third! I've been mourning the slow death of Fry's for years now, and I would really like to have a local alternative to that place named after a river in South America. I loved the Cincinnati Micro Center store when I was in that city.

For YEARS I've been saying I want a Micro Center in Indianapolis. We're called "The Crossroads of America" because so many main highways come through Indy. It would really be such an excellent place to have one I'd think from a business perspective.
There's a large tech business and userbase here. You could be THE place where a population of millions have the choice to go to get all your various products, from phones, to CPU's and everything else.
Please come to Indy!!!!!!

I think a store in Bloomington, IN would also do great. Home of IU so plenty of students (ones with money based on the cars they drive around town). But if Indy is all I get it would be great, literally nothing around here for components short of a 3 hour drive. Everything has to come from ecommerce.

I created an account just now so I could say I would really love it if we could get a Microcenter in Indianapolis. I either have to order everything offline or go to Best Buy which has almost no selection of anything PC part related. You could make an absolute killing in Indy. One of the biggest cities in the Nation and we have a hunger for Computer Parts that is not currently being filled by any corporation.

Yes, please open a store in the Indianapolis area so that I can give you my money :) With Fry's imploding there are no good computer stores in this area and Microcenter would be a perfect fit.

have you google searched for any local stores. There is a place in Carmel that sells nothing but computers and parts. I love Micro center for the selection and drive there often, but I always stop in to my local stores first before driving 2 or more hours away.

They used to have one in Carmel but it recently permanently closed. Largely due to the fact that they never had anything in stock and lived off GPU’s. But I’d definitely want a MicroCenter in North Indy. Good spot would be Fishers or Carmel but not too far from Castleton but also not too close to Castleton.

I know so many people here that have to drive 2+hrs to go to Chicago or Sharonville/Cincinnati. I tried one time to go to the Columbus location but it closed at 6 and I got there a few minutes after that. Unfortunate. But the Best Buy’s in Westfield/Carmel and Castleton have absolutely zero computer stuff. But a MicroCenter would be a game changer. Especially in Hamilton County.

I stumbled upon this forum while looking for a computer parts store in Indianapolis since Fry's Electronics went out of business. I created an account just to comment that a Micro Center in Indianapolis would be a godsend!! As an IT Administrator, it would be so convenient to have a Micro Center close by as I often need various, parts, cables, adaptors, etc. Ordering from online sometimes takes too long and I'd prefer to see the items in person before purchase.
Please Please Please bring a store to Indianapolis! I know that it would get so much business as we no longer have any similar stores nearby

Really hope they do. Would be the number one tech store in the state. I also saw atleast at one of their cali locations. They have build stations where the staff build your pc you picked the parts for. Low build costs too. That would be crazy popular here.

Also wanted to post to add my +1 to this. I live about an 1.5hrs west of the old Fry's location and we used to make a regular trip up to there for PC parts, electronics, etc. Have always preferred Micro Center, but the 4hr drive is usually a killer. Having a Micro Center in Indy would be great and fill a void that no other company is seeming to fill.

Just wanted to register to +1 on this. Got a few MicroCenter's 3hrs away having one in Indianapolis would be awesome. I would go to Fry's and just impulse buy a new CPU / RAM random stuff. Heck I used to pickup NewEgg when they were in southern Indianapolis. With them both gone I think MC would kill it!

I can't post links because I'm too new of an account here, but search the r/MicroCenter sub-reddit for "Looks like Indianapolis is getting a Micro Center!"
There's a manager opening/opportunity posted to MC's job board (ultipro) for the Indianapolis location.
It sounds like they'll be moving into one of the empty retail buildings near the Castleton mall.
I've been hoping for this to happen since making the trek to Sharonville, OH for my last two builds over the past decade. So awesome!!

Looking forward to seeing if all the praise from Linus Tech Tips is true about Microcenter come this summer. Just glad to get something other than Best Buy as the only retail tech shop near me.
