Bluetooth is not working - Powerspec G705
My bluetooth is not working all of a sudden. I have the ASRock 802.11ac Dual Band WiFi Adapter card. It shows off in windows but in the Bluetooth and other devices it does not give me the option to turn it on. The problem is when I go to the Device Manager it does not show Bluetooth and it gives an error in USB controllers section:
This happened previously on March 23rd of this year but I was able to unseat the ASRock Wifi Adapter card and put it back in and it worked. I have tried that several times and made sure the USB cable was snug on both the motherboard and the adapter card but that has not resolved the issue. I have tried to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them (https://www.asrock.com/mb/spec/product.us.asp?Model=802.11ac%20Dual%20Band%20WiFi%20Adapter#Overview) but I continue to get the error above (Unknown USB Device). I did power cycle (turn off the computer, unplug the power cord, hold down the power button for 30 seconds, etc) that was suggested on another thread but that did not resolve the issue. I tried to put the Wifi Adapter card in another slot but Windows could not find it at all in that slot. My Wifi does actually work but my guess is that works through the PCI Express slot which seems to be working fine.
I did put an off brand Wifi adapter from my sons computer in the same slot and connected it to the same USB connection on my motherboard and it works great. Unfortunately the cable is not USB on both ends of that Wifi adapter so I can't test to see if the cable is the issue. Any ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated?
I hope I am able to resolve this remotely as I live 6+ hours from the Micro Center store in Tustin, CA.

Hello @JonN
You seem to have covered quite a bit of troubleshooting yourself. Based on all the information you provided, it seems you have a defective Wireless adapter. Even though the WiFi works fine, it could be just the Bluetooth portion of the adapter.
Of course testing another cable could help but if another adapter works in the same USB connection then it is likely the adapter itself. Do you have another Bluetooth adapter you could use for testing? I understand bringing it to the store 6 hours away for something like this is not really an option. As long as you can connect and use WiFi on the PC, I would look into getting a USB Bluetooth adapter to resolve this.
I know you mentioned trying this adapter in another slot, but are you able to test this adapter in another PC?

Thank you for your quick response. :)
Good idea. I tried it in my sons computer that actually has the same motherboard and it did the same thing. The wifi worked fine but the same error in the USB controllers. I purchased the Powspec on 7/18/20 and the warranty is for one year, correct? If so is there a USB Bluetooth adapter you would suggest? I could try and switch out the cable as well I figure that is not expensive.

We do not seem to carry the cable itself. Although it looks like you can find it on Amazon for pretty cheap. I would personally either replace the entire network card or just add the USB Bluetooth adapter like this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/627039/asus-usb-bt500-bluetooth-50-usb-adapter-with-ultra-small-design,-backward-compatible-with-bluetooth-21-3x-4x
The PC does come with a 1 year warranty so unfortunately that just expired.
