Are you certain this is a hardware issue? I know you tested another card but it could be a driver related problem. When swapping the GPUs are you performing a clean install of the drivers? I would start there and try and rule out any possible software/driver problems.
Let us know if this helps
If you need to clean install your video card drivers, you can follow our guide for this at https://community.microcenter.com/kb/articles/133-how-to-clean-install-video-card-drivers-in-windows-10
@Ian @TS_JosephF i have brought the hard drive to an IT worker who tested it and told me that it is flat out a dead card. i told my uncles brother about it and he said he messed with his hardware alot and messed it up. i totally believe him and i knew it before anyways but i still bought it because he said if it has problems he would pay me back. i will now be finding a new graphics card. thank you!
Hang on, it works until you start up a game? That is not a flat out dead graphics card. That is a card that has some issue that may be hardware but may be just software. I would double check that reapplied thermal paste job. Perhaps the cooler was not reseated completely.
just so everyone knows, the problem is solved
Glad to hear you were able to get the issue resolved. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
