Powerspec G707 running windows 11, Bluetooth not working.
I upgraded to windows 11, and now Bluetooth does not work.
I cannot add or connect a BT device to the PC. When trying to add a device, the new pair of headphones do not show up. When trying to connect to the older pair, (added under Windows 10) they do not connect.
I can add and connect my two sets of BT headphones to my iPhone, so I know the BT devices work.
I have run the windows troubleshooter - nothing changes. Windows is up to date and the Bluetooth driver says it is up to date. I have started and stop various BT services, as well as turned BT on/off and rebooted many times.
(When I look for BT device on my phone I can see the PC Bluetooth device is working, as my iPhone see the PC "Discoverable as Desktop-XXXXX")
The drivers on PowerSpec support page seem to be the same for Windows 10 and 11, so is there any point in updating?
What else should I do?

I disabled the realtek driver and then I dropped in a old USB bluetooth dongle and everything is working. Why the onboard BT does work is distressing.

Greetings,
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers?
1. Right click on the start button, typically found at the lower left, and pick Device Manager.
2. Expand the arrow next to "Bluetooth"
3. In the list below Bluetooth, right click on any options here, and select Uninstall. Do not check any boxes for "Delete driver software"
4. Once uninstalled, restart your PC and it will automatically reinstall and try to connect bluetooth devices again.

Ian - thank you for the suggestion. I tried it - no joy
I am back to using a very old BT USB dongle that seems to work great.

Does the Wi-Fi on the PC still work? Most likely an issue with the PCI card itself if a USB dongle works fine.
-
Wifi is working fine. But I am using the wired network connect most of the time.

Discharge the system. I'd power it off at the PSU, press the power button 10-15 times or let it sit for a few minutes. I'd swap the antennas around. Power it back on and see if the Bluetooth device reappears. If it doesn't, look at the WIFI card in the system. you're going to see a USB cable coming off the card that connects to a USB 2.0 header on the bottom of the board. I would reseat this on the board, or swap it to another USB 2.0 header.

We have the same issue on our Powerspec G471. Our Bluetooth devices like headphones and speakers work on our Windows 10 PCs but do not on the Windows 11 Powerspec PC. We had to buy a separate Bluetooth dongle as well. The on board adapter failed.

Good afternoon @vincentandjanet
Thank you for contacting micro center. I have sent a message directly to you on this to get more information on the computer.
-
Would you be able to tell me specific brands of and models of headphones and speakers that did not work? I'll see if I can get some samples to investigate the issue.
We test Bluetooth connectivity extensively in our testing. I'd like to find out if this is a device compatibility issue.
-
Sure, the Bluetooth speaker we used on the previous workstation is called:
Brookstone Design USA
-
Also, this speaker works with the separate USB Bluetooth dongle.
-
I'll see if we can get a similar model to test from that manufacture. It's the Intel 3168 Bluetooth on that model, pretty common. 22.180.0 is the latest driver we've qualified for this adapter.

Update. I replaced the antenna connected to the MSI motherboard and all is working.
In order for the Bluetooth to work, it requires the antenna. Thanks
-
Glad you solved your issue. You are correct, the antennas are required for both WIFI and Bluetooth.

@vincentandjanet @PowerSpec_MikeW
Thanks for this thread and posting your solution. I also was having bluetooth problems and was planning to exchange this box.
I never expected the antenna to be required for bluetooth, but it's working as expected.
Suggestion for PowerSpec:
There's the leetle plastic bag that has the SATA cables, the antenna, and the "Getting Started" card. The getting started card says that you'll need to connect the antenna for wifi. It does not specify for bluetooth. It would be a good idea to drop a little sheet or whatnot in there also "Connecting the antenna is required for bluetooth connectivity" kinda thing.
Thanks again.

Had the same issue. I could connect to my bluetooth headset but it wouldn't stay connected or play sounds. I attached the two antenna which I had not installed and now everything seems to be working OK.
