PowerSpec BIOS Requests and Questions - Intel

No ETA right now. I asked MSI to make me aware as soon as the BIOS is available for internal testing.
-
Looks like MSI has released their production version 7E06vAF

We're posting them all here:

Picked up a lightly used B750 yesterday, and am about to dive in. As far as I can see, the installed bios is the one you have listed here for MSI Pro Z690-A WIFI DDR4 (E7D25IZ1.MF). It says it was installed in March 2023. I’d like to be recent going forward. Do you know which MSI build it’s based on?
-
It's based on 7D25v1K.

What is the latest bios/UEFI for a POWERSPEC B944? I need to run virtualization on it and I'm having some issues with the current bios (MicroElectronics B944/PRIME Z790-V AX, BIOS 1645 03/15/2024). Can I get any help updating this to a recent bios/UEFI version? Thanks

I have a Powerspec G482 and my computer keeps restarting because of a Kernel-Power Event in the event viewer. I hope it has something to do with the BIOS driver which hasn't been updated since October '24 - before the 5090 it uses came out.
Can we please get an updated BIOS for it?
-
Emailed it to you this morning, but unlikely to be the issue. Most likely a defective or failing PSU.

Hi Mike, could I also get the latest bios for the Gigabyte Z890 AORUS ELITE X ICE? Mine shipped with bios version F9c
When I attempt to update using the packages directly from Gigabyte, I get an OEMID mismatch or a BIOS version mismatch from Q-Flash.

I am pursuing the bios update as I upgraded the RAM to
G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 96GB DDR5-6400 PC5-51200 CL32 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit F5-6400J3239F48GX2-TZ5RK
but it seems to be running at a slower clock speed of 4400 MT/s instead of 6400. When I enable XMP, the machine is unable to boot until I restore defaults. -
F16c. That's hard on the memory controller. Stock behavior is to downclock below the JEDEC on 2DPC configurations, so the 4400 is to be expected.
-
Got it, I thought I read something along those lines on the packaging so I appreciate the clarification. Thank you for the download and the info!

Hi, for the Z890 Aorus Elite Ice X there is a new OEM BIOS that enables the Intel 200S functionality. Is there a timeline to get this functionality added?
I have a PowerSpec G482* (I mistakenly wrote G462 previously).
-
same question re: G482 man i really wish i knew these computers were so limited and restricted is such a bummer. hope to find no more locks on the computer doing other things i never expected this oem error.
-
I'll work on it, it's the F17 BIOS. Takes a week or two generally but I'll try to speed it along.
FYI you can bypass the OEM lock by using the flashback feature.
- Download the BIOS and rename the file to Gigabyte.bin.
- Copy it onto a flash drive.
- Connect the flash drive to the port labeled BIOS. (next to the USB-C port on the Gigabyte Z890 AORUS Elite X ICE)
- Turn the PC off.
- Press the Q-Flash Plus button on the top right of the motherboard.
- Wait 5-7 minutes for the flash to complete.
Keep in mind, this changes the manufacturer back to Gigabyte. You won't get our driver updates through Windows Update. Or any targeted firmware solutions.
-
Thanks @PowerSpec_MikeW, I will wait for the BIOS from your release process and focus on other objectives in the meanwhile.
Thanks for attempting to accelerate it.

I asked this in the Intel Settings Thread, but I’ll post it here since it is a question/request.
It looks like Intel has issued out another microcode update for 13/14 gen. It appears to address voltage instability for those that leave their PCs on for extended periods of time (days). Can we get confirmation that this will be incorporated into a future bios update?
-
Sure. Which model or board?
-
We have a custom BIOS and are testing. Monday or Tuesday of next week is what I expect, barring any issues.
