NVIDIA's keynote presentation has a ton of cool new technological updates, from Omniverse technologies to AI advancements, but there's no denying the lynchpin of the whole presentation was the official unveiling of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, coming as soon as October!
NVIDIA revealed their new lineup of GPUs with the flagship GeForce RTX 4090. The 4090 boasts performance up to 4x the performance of the previous generation with the help of the brand-new Ada Lovelace architecture. The Ada Lovelace architecture further improves on the RTX and AI rendering tech of the GeForce RTX 30 Series, and introduces DLSS 3.
DLSS 3 combines DLSS Super Resolution, NVIDIA Reflex, and the all-new DLSS Frame Generation to not just help render fewer pixels, but to actually create new frames in order to take the strain off the CPU. It maintains the high-level responsivity of the original DLSS while boosting frame rates up to 4x over non-DLSS systems.
Check out some highlights, direct from NVIDIA:
While we don't have all the details quite yet, NVIDIA did give some information about the two new GPUs announced today.
The GeForce RTX 4080 will be launching in November with two configurations:

So many teraflops, as soon as I get my hands on this console peasants will feel my unrelenting power!
How will MC be handling the product launch can we get on a wait list of some sort or do we need to come into the store to get some sort of slot or position to pre porder?
I've seen images of what ASUS has in store, it is going to be interesting without EVGA, though
With just a month left, if people have not gotten a card yet, I think the 40 series might be worth the wait!
Hello!
At this point we have no details to share about how launch day will be handled, but as soon as we have information, it will be available on the Community!
Will be interesting to see these cards in action and their stock levels.
Interesting...the 4080 is going for mid-covid prices. I wonder if the stated performance will be worth the price bump from MSRP 30-series prices. I hope the non-reference cards don't demand too much of a higher price. Excited to see what happens!
i know a lot of people wont be to happy about the prices going back to what it was before they dropped but the performance is pretty insane
I don't know if this process is followed by all stores inn the chain but our (Mayfield Heights, Ohio) normal process is designed to be fair to both customers and sales personnel. When the demand calls for it, we have a lottery that day that can be entered using a special QR code that is available onsite. The customer receives a text from the salesperson assigned to you when their entry is chosen and their item must be claimed within 15 minutes. Otherwise they will forfeit their claim. When the demand is not as great and supply is available, it's first come first serve.
I camp out to get my card on launch day every time. I sure hope they do not do any type of QR code thing or whatever. It should be who is there the morning of the launch in line like it ALWAYS has been. Do not give a like code or ticket ether until the earliest the night before launch if you do not want people camping because anyone can just show up and ask for said ticket that did not even actually PLAN ON putting in the time and effort to actually camp out for the time that is required to get a GPU! I take vacation from work to do this and camp out overnight, matter of fact, MULTIPLE nights! My local micro center has always done this and allowed this. They will also update us with most recent info on their launch day shipment numbers so that if there are more people in line than what they will have they can let people know, so their time is not wasted. I am always #1 in line. I arrive there and let the GM know I will be camping out Infront of store and she lets me know obviously to avoid getting in customers way as well as respectful things to do like not throwing trash down everywhere etc... I actually enjoy doing it and we always have a blast leading up to launch when we camp. On the RTX 3090 launch, my local store only got three RTX ASUS tuf 3090's in and no other cards from any other manufacturer because the 8 EVGA rtx 3090's were actually intercepted on the truck and sent back to EVGA because of capacitor issues. SO, being number 1 in line REALLY paid off, we had 40 people in line the night before on the last day I camped before launch and the GM came out and told us that there were only going to be 3 cards available, but people STILL stayed praying and hoping that she was wrong! Not only did I get a RTX 3090, but I only paid $1,499 plus tax for it at a time where people were telling me I was stupid for paying that much for a GPU and not to mention mining was beginning to really boom at that time. Please Micro center, sure do hope I am allowed to camp again, I look forward to it and meeting likeminded cool people!
I just got confirmation that we (Mayfield Heights) will have a voucher system based on your place in line. I can't speak to how the other 24 stores in the chain will handle the launch but when we open at 9am, we will begin accepting the first group of voucher holders and so on. Heads up...we've already got a line forming! Our plan B if the size of the crowd becomes more challenging.
The lines forming thing has to be referring to today's AMD 7000 series CPU launch, not GPU launch on October 12th. There cannot be lines forming for the RTX 4090 today at over two weeks early! You should need to be in line on the morning and or night before launch in order to get a voucher. A voucher is given as a guarantee to get a GPU because it is one of whatever they have in stock that morning and you just scored one by being given said voucher. I have gone to many launches!
You are right @sickntired. I mistakenly responded to this discussion. My sincere apologies.
Hopefully NVIDIA will send promo swag for the 40 Series launch! I would love to see some pins and stickers!
You should HAVE to camp out. It is a launch. After launch will not be an issue. Put in the effort if you want to buy the rtx 4090 on launch day. If you're not willing to wait in line than you run the chance of not getting it. Before anyone says you have no time and you have a life, so do I, I just take vacation from work to do it etc. By the way. Every micro center by me, ALWAYS does a line, which means camping out. You will then be handed a voucher on the night before or morning of launch if you happen to be in a spot in line that they still have a GPU for. They will usually tell you what models of that GPU are available and then you choose which one you want and is written down on the voucher for you to turn in when store opens!
Gotta love new hardware season 😀 can't wait to see new GPU heatsink designs as well 🤗
Thats what i said lol. There is NO WAY lines for the 4000 series are forming already. Waiting to see what the St Louis Brentwood location will do for the 4090 launch. I will camp only if i have to. I want a 4090 asap.
anyone here from California planning on doing a camp out at the Tustin store? I did it in 2020 for the 3090 and it was insane but also a blast meeting some nice and fun people, I was hoping to link up with someone to let eachother know when the line starts. I was really fortunate that year to have someone see my post and send me a private message letting me know people actually starting lining up 2 days before, by the time I got there I was already a super high number and still managed to get a card although I was the LAST ONE. But thanks to that person I was able to get one!
Question: In your opinion, do YouTubers, like Jaystwocents, have more influence over your buying decisions than AMD, NVidia or Intel's marketing efforts?

Dear GOD, please NO LOTTO system. Anyhow, there will not be a lotto system at LAUNCH! There should Never be a lotto system at launch. You will need to camp to get it! I am totally against lotto system at launch. Sucks that you cannot camp, but if you REALLY wanted it you would camp for it! Just take vacation from work, By the way, it will not be like the 3000 series launch because mining is not playing a part this time around etc... P.S. MC does not carry Founders edition cards!
10 days til launch! But please no lotto system for launch day.
Can't wait for the 12th, getting more anxious by the day. Hoping the Marietta, GA store gets a decent amount of cards in stock.
Alright, how early is everyone getting there? Are we doing pizza or tacos this time around?
Thought i was the only one getting anxious lol. I just want to get this overwith and get that 4090 in my hands asap lol. Im still on a 2080 ti so im looking at a huge increase in performance. Plus i have the LG C2 42inch 4k display ready to use the 4090 on. Im excited!
saw the comment about lines forming already. can anyone confirm this? I'm out of the Dallas store and haven't been out that way to see if there was a line yet. will be camping if have to.
