On a sadder note, my local MicroCenter has been closed "for a Deep Cleaning".
I didn't ask Why?
So, hope has faded, I don't see a 3080 in my crystal ball.
Texting them today, there currently isn't a scheduled re-open date. Unfortunately, all the allocated goodies will likely go to other stores.
They even had two "open box" 3090s on the website. Now gone. -
How do you guys deal with the added electrical cost? I had subsidsed electric at my previous apt, but I can't stomach the huge costs at my new place

cine_chris said:Many people fold seasonally when the power is used to heat. Summer has a double penalty as you have to pump the heat back out via the HVAC. I'm fortunate & grandfathered into a super-good rate for power, so I try to do extra. Also installed a 19SEER 1-Ton heat-pump in the basement. You just need to find a commitment level that you are comfortable with.

I continue to tune and optimize.All-time high today, 17.3M PPD.That's Top100 territory!
-
Impressive @cine_chris. Congrats on the achievement!

@LandShark only saw #s >17 once today. 16.5 now.
The EVGA 3070 wait-list is <2hr from me now, so I might get lucky soon! Good to see my MC-Duluth Georgia neighbor back in the RED#s again! Also, DiJock has been working steadily since Oct and @RedJr55jumped on the scene with some big#s. MCO Team#s have been on the slippery slope lately, we need the help.
Now, if we could only get some recruiting support in that MC email letter.
Best link to see team data is:

@MightyMayfield You made it!!! I happen to notice you were listed 100 on the FAH Donor page.
-
I've been tuning & tweaking, getting all the Nvidia GPUs on Linux. While I'll never make Top100 rank like @MightyMayfield, I'm really close to a Top100 Producer spot... the EOC 24hr-avg (7day/avg) is the stat I watch. Although my#s have been weak the last couple of days, I guess others faired worse as I moved up a chunk! Not what I expected to see.

UPDATE: Jan 20th
Top100!!

GOOD NEWS!!YESTERDAY by Alpha Lee, BeneficiaryHere's a helpful update from the COVID Moonshot twitter on recent progress. We're still aiming to nominate a clinical candidate for human trials by March! Thank you for helping us get this far.

Oh, I'm getting so tired of alpha-helical hairpins. And myosins. Myosins are the worst!
I'd switch to Covid-19 only, but then how would non-Covid projects advance?

@teamtempest
It's my understanding that the preference setting is essentially a 'suggested' feature. I think I've been setting it at 'high-priority'. My observation is that they're making an effort to match WU with a particular class of hardware, but just an impression I have. I'd set the preference to your liking, that's why it's there. -
The EVGA waitlist for the 3070 FTW3 Ultra took a HUGE jump today, I was 01:11:00 yesterday & was notified. So some SKUs are moving, don't miss your notification if signed up.
-
Any idea what’s happened to the Extreme Overclocking stats? No updates to the data since late yesterday.
Edit: Looking at the FAH forums, looks like the stats files are not updating on their side. So the issue appears to be on the FAH side. -
-
Nosing around the team statistics, I found this (sorry if the image is too small):An impressive 1.86% of all our total WU's with a negligible % of total points. Wonder what sort of jobs tml is getting?
-
Apparently, this is not rare, the 2020 occurrences I show are Jan 10th, April 5th.
For the FAH data archive project that I'm tinkering with, I'm planning to create a synthetic record generator for 'missing' days. Having FAH data now back to mid-2013, there are many instances of data gaps like this.
Guess today would be an opportune day to start coding the fah-synthgen1a.py code.

Points collection server seems to be having issues. Again.
-
I saw that the F@H forum admin, bruce, was posting on their forum about there being a server issue. He mentioned that it was being worked.
There has been a multitude of problems with delayed credits. The person responsible for fixing those problems is working through them one-by-one.
When that server's problem is resolve, I expect that the entire backlog will be credited on a single day.
I saw mine corrected. Did you see yours?
-
Not yet, unfortunately. As long as the work is still being done, I don't particularly care. It's just much harder to guess which machines are down when I can't look at point totals.
-
You OK? DId they steal your gear???
I recall you mentioning that some changes were expected... hope, you can get back to being your 'Mighty' self, soon!
-
I've been working with the FAH data for a few months...
some of you might find this MCO stat page helpful.
It's fast & exceptionally phone friendly. Anyway... the page is beautiful & fast on a phone. No tracking, no ads, no click-bait swill, no graphics, just pure HTML & Jquery. & it UPDATES HOURLY!!!
-
Still here. Unfortunately the FAH servers simply don't want to play ball with my machines. I've written scripts to auto connect and retry downloads every 2 minutes, reformatted OS and reinstalled FAH, driver/firmware updates...everything I can think of. Just can't get any WU to download anymore. I would be happy to blame the store firewall but even the two test machines that are on entirely different ISPs are having the same problems.
Not sure where to go from here, especially with demand for video cards and any systems with them in it has skyrocketed and displays have higher churn rate than butter.
-
I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm so used to seeing you lead the charge!
-
The FAH Updates have stalled, so these test pages will not be updating.
They could be returning to a 3 hr update rate or just broken... I'll have to wait and see.
Lots of problems lately...
-
Going to try asking for permission to try some more stuff, hopefully this will help, though the number of machines I have access to is still greatly diminished.
