Intel Arc A770 Benchmarks - An Incredibly Solid Mid-Range Card
Written by Sean Mekinda
Intel has officially entered the graphics card arena (you can check out our breakdown over here for full details!), so we sat down with their new 16GB Arc A770 and put it through the wringer to get an idea of how it'd perform under daily use. Check out our results below:
Our System:
- Intel Arc A770 Dual Fan 16GB GDDR6 PCIe 4.0 Graphics Card, stock settings, Intel Graphics Driver v31.0.101.3490
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Raphael AM5 4.5GHz 16-Core Boxed Processor
- ASUS X670E ROG CROSSHAIR Hero AMD AM5 Motherboard
- Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5-4800 PC5-38400 CL40
- SilverStone SX1000 1000 Watt 80 Plus Platinum SFX-L Fully Modular Power Supply
- Lian Li O11D Mini
Benchmarks:
3DMark (v2.23.7457):
3DMark's GPU tests push graphics cards to their limits. Time Spy uses DirectX12 to really test a GPU's power. Port Royal is 3DMark's ray tracing test, designed for real-time ray tracing. These 3DMark results show a fantastic option for an entry-to-mid-level graphics card that can handle some ray tracing.
PassMark (v10.2):
Similar to 3DMark, PassMark is designed to push GPUs to their limits. However, unlink 3DMark, PassMark tests both 2D and 3D graphics operations, all the way from DirectX9 to DirectX12 in 4K. Like the 3DMark results, we see that the Arc A770 is a great first entry in the GPU market from Intel for mid-level builds
UNIGINE Superposition (v1.1):
Superposition is a staple benchmark, pushing cards for both performance and stability with intense ray tracing. We put the Arc A770 through the 1080P Extreme test, as we knew it would shine. And with an average fram rate of 120 FPS, shine it did. 1080p Extreme, despite being only 1080p, is a remarkably intensive test, still making heavy use of ray tracing. And at 120FPS average, the A770 continues to show that this is a card that is ready for 1080p esports and AAA titles.
Intel's A770 is an absolute monster of a card, one that has handily claimed the spot at the top. With incredible ray tracing abilities and the capacity to handle 8K gaming with smooth frame rates, this is the new go-to card for anyone looking to stay at the absolute cutting edge.

I wonder if Intel is planning to integrate their CPU capabilities with their own Arc GPUs for increased performance--that would be a really cool thing to bring to the market.
-
Ok performance but cost to much and drivers are still a hot mess.
If you buy one you're paying for the privilege to be a beta tester for intel.

WHEN will your stores and employees have a clue about the current Intel promotion? According to Intel Micro Center is participating. I JUST bought a A770 yet when I went back today to ask about the promotion and redemption code NO ONE knew what I was talking about. What is going on? It is clear as day on Intel's site-they have a CoD Warzone II and software bundle. If you buy through Newegg they email you the code in minutes. Why isn't Microcenter providing the promotion when Intel says you are participating?

When will you have Intel Arc A770 available for purchase in Georgia?
-
well cant wait to see what intel has in store once many people really put it to the test

Hello, looking into this I am not seeing we currently do not offer any game promotions with this card. Any promotions would be advertised as such on our product pages when available, and with this, game promotions offered will vary based on retailer and are subject to change. If you do have a purchase with Micro Center and would like to reach out to Intel about a game code redemption, you can reach them at https://softwareoffer.intel.com/Support

Yes, that will be interesting to see!

I believe that Arc Graphics should, at this time, focus on content creators who use Adobe applications. There are tons of us out there. It's a way of creating a base of support unlike try to capture the crowded field of gaming.

Pretty solid benchmarks, hopefully they solve all the driver issues! Decent price GPU for 1080p gaming!
-
I'm hoping to see Intel do well and add another competitor to Nvidia and AMD cards!
-
Those are some solid looking benchmarks!
