Bambu A1 Printer Recall Question
There is currently a recall on Bambu A1 printers due to a faulty cable on the heating bed.
I bought my printer through Microcenter and no longer have the box. Will the recall apply to me if I would like to return the printer, and possibly upgrade to a P1S? Can I return it to Microcenter and still receive the upgrade voucher?

I just reached out to Microcenter support and explained the situation. Their response was:
"We are offering $80 off the purchase of a A1 Mini, P1, or X1 series printer if purchased same-day."
So if you want to take advantage of the discount it's available. Unfortunately I returned my printer on Saturday and either this policy wasn't in place or it wasn't offered to me. The store manager at my local store is supposed to contact me and let me know if they will let me take advantage of this discount anyway. I'll comment here to let everyone know how that goes.

The manager of my local microcenter contacted me and let me know that they would honor the $80 discount for me to purchase a new Bambu lab printer. If anyone is in a similar situation where you returned your printer before this policy was in place it would probably be worth reaching out to your local Microcenter.

Looks like this has been pretty well handled and thanks for sharing your findings from our other forms of contact.
These answers are correct for anyone who may come to this discussion thread who has a Bambu Lab A1 purchased directly from Micro Center.
Just to add some clarity in case additional questions arise - if want to return the recalled printer, you can do so and the $80 coupon is valid directly for a different model of Bambu Lab printer. This is all handled inside the store, no appointment or anything like that needed as long as it was purchased directly with us.

I would also like to know what is going to happen as I would like to go with the second option that Bambu is offering which is to replace the bed myself. Would the $120 be applicable to Microcenter or Bambu purchases?
-
I too would like to know about the A1 recall announcement and the options for the $80 and $120 credits. The Bambu blog announcement does specifically say
"Please note customers who purchase from our official resellers should receive the same compensation through the reseller. Please contact them for details."
So please release the details on how Micro Center will be handling the compensation of the Bambu Lab A1.

I have a feeling there are many people wanting to know how Micro Center will handle this issue, me included. I have been a loyal customer for as long as I can remember. That being said I have also had my fair share of not great customer experiences with this tech resale giant. I hope this will not be the case here! Bambu Labs has taken this issue head on and with as much transparency as one could hope for. Their approach to this issue is light years ahead of some other printer manufactures, and my hope is Micro Center will step up and honor the same conditions laid out by Bambu Lab.
If they do not then one can only hope the Bambu will step up and give these customers, again me included, a path to resolve this. I understand the complexity in situations like this where a customer's path to purchase is flexible and can very so greatly, but the burden of the recall should be on Bambu. Regardless of how one customer purchased the unit.
Micro Center please let your customers know how you would like to handle this.

Wondering the same as I’ve seen the same statement from Bambu Lab.

I reached out to Bambu Labs about this yesterday. They confirmed it's up to microcenter to help us.
They're response:
"Thanks for contacting Bambulab support. We are sorry if the printer was purchased at a dealer, please follow the recall plan provided by the dealer. Thank you for your understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding. Please feel free to contact us if you need further assistance or have other questions. We will glad to help." -
Thanks for following up with Bambu Jabbott. Hopefully microcenter can provide some clarification as many of us have stopped printing due to this fire hazard.
-
You rock Jabbott, thanks!

What options are there if we no longer have the box?
-
I know people that have returned to Micro Center and have asked for the $80 and have gotten it. My concern is I am going to keep my A1, so how do I get my $120 credit and more important how do I get the new bed when it comes out the end of March(I am not holding my breath for that date). This is my first time on this message board. Do people from Microcenter actually read this stuff and respond?
Edit - Just talked to Micro Center and their tech support says they are not going to be replacing beds as far as they know. If anyone finds out differently please let me know.
-
I was told by the online chat support that for a recall, they wouldn’t require the box if you didn’t have it.
-
Same here. I had 2. Returned 1 a little while ago and got $80 of a P1S. I am keeping the 2nd and would like to replace the heatbed when they become available. I’ll try opening a ticket. Looks like other Microcenter customers have been successful with that. Fingers crossed.
-
What about the option to replace the bed ourselves? does this not apply to customers that purchased from Micro Center?
-
I would also like to know how Microcenter plans to handle option 2 as outlined by Bambu:
How to Apply?
Please help us by sharing your decision on the registration page we have prepared. This will greatly assist us in forecasting the materials we need to prepare and optimizing the entire process to solve this unfortunate issue. Customers who purchase from our official resellers should receive the same compensation through the reseller. Please contact them for details.
Microcenter, how are we supposed to sign up for a bed replacement with you? Bambu clearly states that you are to make both options available to us.
-
The options we are able to provide would be as listed earlier in this thread, if you would like the replacement part to be sent to you, that would be supplied by Bambu Labs directly and you can reach them at https://bambulab.com/en/sign-in?to=%2Fsupport%2Faone-recall for assistance with this.

I bought the A1 combo from microcenter 2 weeks ago, I called the number on bambu labs site for microcenter and got a mexican restaurant in ohio and they had been getting calls all day about this. I hunted down the number to the store since it wasn't on the receipt. the guy said I only had one option, that was to bring it in and that I didn't need the box. Since Id rather not drive 2.5 hrs to the armpit of the world and back again, I tried what some others have and used my Reference # (found above the date on my receipt) as my order number and 2 days later I got a response confirming my bed replacement when available and $120 voucher.
side note, I was disappointed when I couldn't get the filament discount subscription because bambu couldn't confirm my A1 purchase via microcenter but this obviously does.
-
The filament discount only applies if you order through Bambu, not resellers. It says that on the site.Regarding the “Order Number” on the “I’ll replace it myself form”; just enter “MicroCenter” as they are an authorized reseller. I did so and received a confirmation email from Bambu the next day stating they would send me a replacement heat bed assembly and a $120 voucher for future purchases through their web site.No need to go looking for your MC receipt.
-
Admin is wrong. Microcenter sent out emails today with instructions on how to use option 2. A link takes you to the Microcenter website where you can fill out a registration form for the heatbed replacement. You get a $120 Microcenter voucher for Bambu products in their store.
-
Yes, that is the new information sent out, at the time of posting, the information provided was and is still valid.
Any further information about the Bambu Lab recall can be found at: https://community.microcenter.com/kb/articles/814-bambu-lab-a1-3d-printer-recall-information

I have purchased 4 A1 printers. Will I receive $120 for each printer with a total of $480? Thank you.
-
Yes, that is correct. You'd get 4 $120 gift cards towards Bambu Lab purchases.
-
Any update on this? People who bought from Bambu Lab have been receiving their heat bed replacements, but I've heard nothing but crickets from Microcenter. I filled out the form on the MC site months ago, but have seen no emails or anything.
-
Greetings,
To provide an update to this, it looks like we are expecting these parts to be shipped to the store within the next few days and once they are ready for pickup, you would be emailed directly about this. An email should have been sent to you from our customer relations team about this recently!
-
Thanks for the update. I haven't seen any emails. I didn't even get one when I filled out the form a couple months back.
-
I didn't get an email either but my response to my ticket from Bambu is to get my parts from Microcenter. do I have to make another ticket since I'm not getting notified?
-
You can ensure you're signed up by filling out the form at https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/bambuprinter.aspx from on the recall information page.
-
I received an e-mail saying in the next few days the heat beds will be distributed. 😀
-
Great to hear! From my understanding, once the parts are in stock at our stores you'll get another email letting you know.
