How many of you would like to see a new MicroCenter in the Pacific Northwest?
The PNW is in desperate need of a MicroCenter. Fry’s is fried, Video Only sucks, Best Buy is awful, and I can’t find what I need in town. I think we’re all sick and tired of ordering from Newegg, Amazon, and B&H. We want to feel the product in our hands. We want to see how they work in real time! PNW people, make this vote…

Grounding question?
I have seen the grounding socket plugs, but I was wondering if there was an alternative way to ground my wrist strap and ESD mat. could I just connect the alligator pins to a piece of metal sitting on the ground (ex: a dumbell) or does the piece of metal have to involve something that is plugged in?

What gloves to wear when dissasembling a laptop and touching the battery?
Recently I have been searching the safety procedures for disassembling a laptop. I learned that nitrile ESD gloves might be useful. My main use for them would be more so for moving the battery, as an ESD wrist wrist strap would work fine for keeping me and my components safe. My questions is: do nitrile gloves actually…
