I wanted to make a build that would be good for both immersive, high performance, gaming, and 100 tabs worth of school work. My current pc is not very well equipped for gaming, and this would be the first time I would actual build the pc completely on my own. I am in need of a significant upgrade, thanks for doing this giveaway!

I chose this build and all the parts because it gets very annoying every couple of months that a new component comes out and makes your rig obsolete. So you have to constantly paying for upgraded parts to keep up. This build I feel will last a very long time and also I can do anything I want with this rig. Stream videos, game at the highest level and etc.

This is kind of a "I wish" build for me...a little out of my price range, but fun to think about. https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=9a1cd27f-aea2-44ac-b6b9-18c3ae0a519c

I've been slowly buying parts over the last year and a half. Just when I almost have enough to get the major pieces my tuition increases 🙄.
Any way this build would finish what I have started. So far I have: a phanteks p400a that I'm going to paint silver (I live the old aluminum power mac/mac pro cases); A random 800w corsair power supply that I got for cheap on Craigslist, it's modular and missing all it's cables so I have to buy more; and a fuzedrive 1.6tb ssd. This should be a good upgrade from my fx6300 I'm still rocking. I'm probably gonna buy some noctua fans on ebay, I can't stand how loud my old pc in and it's worth a little more since I've already spent money on replacing fans when they've died
I'm probably going to end up getting a used gtx 1070 for the final build and probably an open box mobo. I want to eventually upgrade my CPU and get a pcie 4.0 ssd so I'm looking at the x570 motherboards. Pretty midrange stuff otherwise. It's less about gaming and more so faster drafting/modeling/animating/editing because that's where I have deadlines and the time crunch is more important. -
After building my first PC five years ago, it feels like it's time to upgrade. I chose this build to be more space-conscious compared to my full tower, and I've had a lot of fun researching parts for performance and aesthetics. Since my job has shifted to 100% telework this year, I'd love to be able to transition from work mode to gaming mode with ease at the end of the day!

PC Building

Dream Build
The parts I've chosen might seem like overkill, but I have my reasons for each component and have planned out my workflow and such. I chose these parts since it would be a vast improvement to my current laptop (i5 7200U, 8GB RAM, and Intel HD 620 Graphics, yuck. The CPU can underclock all the way down to 0.38 GHz on intensive workloads when I need a high clock speed). Not only would it completely obliterate in gaming, but would help me build my career in streaming, 3D art, architecture, game development, machine learning, and VFX.
I've never built a PC before, but I've done hours of research, so I know that these parts are not as overkill as one might think.
I chose the Ryzen 9 5900X since to handle many of my intensive tasks. It'll handle streaming at 1080p and 1440p great. It'll also come in handy for rendering video in Premiere and After Effects. I might test out the render speeds in 3D applications like Blender Cycles, but I'll be using the GPU for that. The high core count, high thread count, and high clock speed of the CPU will definitely calculate the rigid body and soft body calculations faster than my 2 core, 4 thread CPU at 2.7 GHz
I chose 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro since I would have multiple intensive applications running simultaneously. Such apps include Blender, Premiere, Davinci Resolve, OBS, After Effects, ZBrush, Character Creator 3, Unity, Unreal Engine, Unigine Engine, Substance Painter, FL Studio, Virtualbox, VMWare, and many more. These are all resource-intensive programs that utilize every drop of performance. My current system is running a puny 8GB, and even one program chugs on it. Who knows, maybe I'll need 64GB?
I chose the RTX 3090 graphics card mainly because the OptiX Ray Tracing Acceleration Engine would accelerate rendering in Blender and other 3D apps by at least 10 times. The whopping 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM will come in handy for handling tons of 4k and 8k textures and procedural materials in my 3D applications. It'll also come in handy for real-time architectural visualization in Unreal and Twinmotion. It also has the NVEnc encoder, which would help with streaming at 1080p and maybe even 1440p. Oh yeah, and the DLSS will definitely increase performance in compatible games such as Cyberpunk 2077. This GPU is definitely a gargantuan step up from INTEL HD 620 integrated graphics. My current GPU renders a 128 sample image in Blender in about 1-2 hours depending on the scene, while the RTX 3090 can supposedly render a 128 sample in just a few seconds, hugely beneficial to my workload.
I chose the Samsung 970 Evo 1TB m.2 SSD to store all my games and programs for faster access. I also plan on keeping work in progress projects for speedier access. The SSD also helps when switching to different workspaces in a program. Once I'm finished with said projects, I plan to transfer them to the WD Black Performance 4TB HDD for long-term storage if I ever need to re-access them.
I chose the Thermaltake - Toughpower Grand RGB 850 Watts 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply to give the PC enough power to run and also enough power to potentially overclock my CPU.
I will use the Corsair - Hydro Series H100i Platinum AIO to cool my CPU and hopefully provide stable temperatures when I overclock.
I also added in an Elgato HD60 streaming card for when I plan on streaming console games.
I chose two LG - 27GL850-B 27" QHD 144Hz HDMI DP FreeSync HDR G-Sync Compatible IPS LED Gaming Monitors for a couple of reasons. First, it's 1440p, so I can see the details in my models and textures clearly. It's 144HZ and G-Sync compatible to give me a smooth gaming experience. And finally, I know it's IPS, and I won't get the fastest response times, but it's IPS. Hence, I have good color accuracy when editing photos and color grading. I also plan on buying a graphics tablet for digital sculpting and drawing.
I don't think I'll ever build something close to this since A. I'm only 15 and don't have a job. B. no amount of chores will be able to fund this build. C. no amount of skills and art I sell won't get me enough to buy this. D. would I even have time for this? I still have school and stuff. My current life savings is about $169, so I have a long way to go. I mean, a cheaper PC build with a Ryzen 5 or 7 and RTX 3060 Ti would be good enough for me, but you asked for a dream build, so I wanted to go all out. A thousand bucks will definitely not be enough to fund this build, but winning the money will help.

This will be my first Micro Center build since 2011. I picked parts at the higher end for a consumer PC. It should perform decently for content creation and be a gaming beast!
-
basically an upgrade to my current 8 year old i7 3770k, 16gb DDR3 corsair, and 1080ti rig. these are currently the best parts in terms of price vs performance to date and for my next build I want it to be an SFFPC (preferably a cooler master NR200P but an NZXT H210i is also a good alternative). thank you MC for the giveaway. happy holidays!

Workstation PC build - lots of threads, lots of memory, fast storage, and lots of space in the case. No OS (I use Linux Mint),

Literally just went through and chose the best, and more often than not, most expensive parts I could find that support 240hz 1440p gaming. I suppose I could have gone for the 4k experience but let's not get too greedy.

I built this based on that my girlfriend and I share a computer. I stream and play video games online with my kids as well as work online. My girlfriend does her photography job as well on our PC. It is difficult for our PC to keep up with the demands we put on it. It would be amazing to have something else to keep up with that. As our incomes our totally dependent on it. Goodluck to everyone, I sincerely hope someone who needs this gets it. -

Pure power. AMD fanboy and proud of it. This would blow most setups out of the water. It has the bonus of upgradability to 5000 series CPU. plus it gives me a path to become the next great Tech youtuber. -
I chose this build because I have always been hindered while playing games, I've never been able to play the games I want because my pc can't handle them. I'm always eager to play games on pc but whenever I play them I just always end up getting 20 frames and it makes my gaming experience not enjoyable, for that reason I usually go to a console for my first choice of enjoyment because the games usually play a lot better there then on my pc. The one thing I have always wanted to do is stream the games I play, I've streamed a few times to my friends from my console and it's a really fun experience and it's definitely something that could get better if I was able to stream from a pc since there's so many options and customization that can be made on pc to make experiences more fun and worthwhile. As you can see from this comment it seems like I really want to game and stream from a pc and you may be asking yourself as you read this “why don't you just buy a gaming computer then?”, well I know that gaming and the experience you get from gaming can really be heightened by the capable of your computer, but i've never really had the money to put forward and buy a computer straight up and when I do get the money It's usually had towards other things but recently I have been able to put more money aside to get a computer but i'm definitely far far away from getting enough money to get myself a nice gaming setup to stream games for my friends. And here I am at the end of my very long comment and as you can see I never once mentioned why I chose the specific parts for my build and thats because its not what the parts look like it's how they perform and influence the gaming experience for me, so in a sense I am explaining why I chose the parts, and the reason why I chose them because I feel like these parts will definitely be able to make my gaming experience a lot better and make my friends have more enjoyment from viewing my streams.
-Helixhue the up and coming streamer on twitch 😊

This build is something I envision for a long time. This is form, function, and elegance. I chose the Asus X570 Crosshair Hero because I would have overclocking in mind to push the components to the limits. This mobo boast a 14+2 phase VRM that will be enough to push a 5900X well at 4.8ghz on all cores at possibly 1.3V. I compiled a ideal custom loop within this list that would work for both a 5900X and Asus 3080 Strix with huge stable overclock at hoping for more than ideal idle and load temperatures. This rig would be used for gaming, streaming, and moderate video editing though overkill for all, I just love pushing components to the limits. Keeping it classy I would use the G.Skill Royal ram kit in silver at 3600. Now if this was Samsung B-die maybe we could see memory frequencies at 3800 with 1800 mhz FCLK on 16-16-16-16-36 timings and 1.4V. Storage drives are kept to mainly M.2 NVME's as a boot drive and game storage with a 2TB HDD for bulk video storage. Lian-Li Uni fans to keep that elegance and they perform well on radiators as well, if not then the Corsair LL series are my next runner-up. Dual monitors at 1440p 144hz refresh rate for that multitasking action. Corsair peripherals for the RGB or immersion on some games like Metro Exodus or Far cry 5. Bose companion speakers I have personally are amazing especially for video editing when your ears get tired with headsets on. Hope yall have a happy holidays and good luck!! *Custom loop fittings are theoretical may need more/less.*

It's been almost 10 years since I built my personal rig. Over the years minor updates to GPU and cooling tubes, and of course the usual maintenances. The rig has survived so long because quality parts and brands were used, however my new hobby demands more cores and ram- all of which has been capped by the current MOBO and CPU . Do me solid and help this old-timer *wink -
Always dreamed of building my own pc.
Just never been able to, I work to support my family of and This is just been pushed out more and more... I want it to edit my own videos for church family and friends.. 1) This is obviously not a budget Gamer build as I am also a creator. so this is built with many heavy 3d, Photography, Rendering and gaming applications in mind.2) Also i have included at the end the link to the cooling setup. I am not a diehard get all Corsair fanboy.. However, the case and cooling solution for the mobo and cpu will be more than efficient given upgrades later on. I will note that given this would be an ideal build, lets face it " Most of us live in the real world and not in mom/pops basement with money to burn" so this would be an upgrade as I go build. for these reasons i chose the mobo as i already have one for my fiance and it has proven excellent right out of the box. For power, I actually would have chosen the seasonic prime ulta 1000, however it was not on the list to choose from.3) Video - Again the card of choice not in the list being the Thermal cooled version of this Evga. Once available definite swap and or the Evga Thermal cooled Kingpin "Overkill you say? Never.4) Keyboard/ Mouse... Honestly I am a Logitech guy, however the super high end gaming Logitech keyboard in my opinion for the price just is not worth it. this is the only reason i have the corsair setup.5) Sound - I have this same setup on my current computer and would buy it again 100%6) Memory - I only chose corsair since because out of a selection of only 2 ram that filled the board to max I fealt this was the best choice. However if were available i would definitely choose Mushkin Redline..7) I am sure many will notice the choice of the 860 evo here and wonder why. Quite simply i own 3 of these and they rock, I have never seen a bad review on this drive either with exception to a doa that was replaced immediately. I also only have windows on this drive and absolutely nothing else including the pagefile.sys8) Storage Drive: I already own one of these and the WD Black 6t is worth the bucks so far. what i had spanned over 4 drives now fits on only one with 4t left to spare.. I would buy 10 of them if i could afford them as they come with the ed 5yr and i also purchased the extra 2 year from Microcenter.Really wish this was all in white as the mobo,, case, fans etc are all white with rgb. This choice was simply due to the mobo.. Personally i wish this mobo came in black "Maybe it does, let me know and this setup will change to all black with rgb lol.Link to the cooling guide for which i am quite sure all the components can be obtained here through Microcenter. Just click on see config, then see recommended setup..... Good luck to all and happy building

Games that have been released recently that I have been waiting for can't run on my prebuilt that only has 6GB of ram and only 200GB of storage. My list would allow me to actually play these new games with my friends like Cold War, try out Scavenger, and more instead of watching my friends play those games together on a Discord video share call. -
I selected these parts for my dream computer because I want a computer to be able to broadcast online, play AAA games as well as use the computer for online classes.Of course it should also look great.
-
I chose this build as It would be a major upgrade to what I have *6 years old* so I could give my wife my old rig and we could play and stream together.

i picked these parts cause its time to move on from haswell 4th gen has served me well but i really would like a bump in IPC and core count, im a huge fan of intel and the msi carbon boards intel has never let me down and it i really need to retire my gtx 960 the 2gb's vram really limits me from playing modern games the 3060ti would eclipse the 960's performance https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=5c8d1eae-19d8-4362-8184-7edf48a24225
